The Jack W. Hayford School of Pastoral Nurture
Consultation V
Shepherding Through Israel

Dr. Hayford has traveled to the Middle East, studying and leading study tours, since 1970.  His experience and insights have become an inspiration to the thousands who have toured with him, as he has led groups on most of these trips (usually taking just under 100--two busses--to retain personal contact and in depth teaching opportunity).

He has mentored scores of pastors for effective leadership of their own congreation's members, as they may set forth with a ministry mindset in this regard.  "There are few things more fulfilling than being able to introduce member of your flock to 'His Land.'  My first time in Israel, I received a very clear directive from the Lord:  "Listen and learn from your teacher. I will bring you back in years to come to teach My people, My Word in My Land."

My teacher was Dr. Guy P. Duffield, famed co-author of "Pentecostal Foundations," sole writer of "A Handbook On Bible Lands," and for many of the years of Angelus Temple's most fruitful years, the pastor of that congregation (1960's and 70's).  I had no idea I would experience the joys I have fulfilling this aspect of my call as a servant of Christ.

This Consultation is open to any earlier participant in Consultation I, and encourages as much as possible that the participating pastor do so with his or her spouse.  The Consultation may be taken for credit at The King's College or Seminary, and will be offered annually or biennially from the Summer, 2007.
